Completed Research Paper & Research-in-Progress Paper

We invite researchers and practitioners to submit unpublished research papers as “Completed Research Papers” or “Research-in-Progress” papers to WI23. Research papers in German and English are welcome. For each track, the corresponding track chairs have established an international program committee that will review each submission according to a double-blind review process.

The presentations of accepted papers can either be prepared and presented in German or English. Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings in the AIS e-Library.

Completed Research Papers present scientific results from the field of business information systems as well as its related disciplines. The results provide a significant contribution to the current state of research. Completed Research Papers are included in the conference program as a presentation and are presented in three different formats.

Submissions to the scientific tracks as Completed Research Papers must not exceed 12 pages (including title, abstract, appendix, author details, and acknowledgments for revised papers; excluding references) and must be preceded by an abstract of a maximum of 150 words as well as three to five keywords. Submissions that do not fulfill these requirements will not be accepted for review.

Research-in-Progress Papers present innovative ideas or preliminary results. Although not yet fully implemented or evaluated, they should contribute to the current state of research. Accepted Research-in-Progress Papers will be presented as posters at the conference.

Submissions to the scientific tracks as Research-in-Progress Papers must not exceed 6 pages (including title, abstract, appendix, author details and acknowledgements for revised papers; excluding references) and must be preceded by an abstract of a maximum of 150 words as well as three to five keywords. Submissions that do not fulfill these requirements will not be accepted for review.

Submissions should have the following formats:

  • Initial submission (anonymized version for review): pdf-document
  • Final submission (camera-ready version): pdf-document

Initial submissions must strictly follow the defined templates (Word or LaTeX). This also applies for the final submissions (Completed Research Paper and Research-in-Progress Paper) as well as for the revised submissions. You can find the corresponding templates below.

For anonymization, the names of the authors are to be replaced by placeholders. Apart from that, the first page remains unchanged.

A single paper can only be submitted for exactly one track and can only be submitted online via the review system.
