WI23 School Challenge: How can digital technologies and innovative processes support everyday life and promote sustainability?

The Department of Information Systems Paderborn warmly invites you to the WI23 School Challenge: Digital Responsibilty!

Digital Responsibility (DR) looks at the ethical and sustainability-oriented challenges on a private, organisational and societal level that arise from the use of innovative technologies and processes.

The aim of the School Challenge is to give pupils the opportunity to actively participate in the 18th International Conference on Wirtschaftsinformatik. The challenge is open to pupils in basic and advanced computer science courses at upper school level.

 Preliminary round and final

The detailed task will be announced at the beginning of the second school semester on 22.01.2023. The assignment will include concept development and optional prototype implementation. The results must be submitted no later than 13.08.2023.

If there are more than 10 participating teams, we reserve the right to hold a preliminary competition and invite only a limited number of teams to the final. The finalists will present their results in a 5-minute pitch in front of a jury consisting of professors and practitioners on 21.09.2023 at the Heinz Nixdorf MuseumsForum.

Prize money will be offered to the first three winning teams selected by the jury. The exact prizes will be announced at the latest when the task and the application are published. The prize money can be used freely, e.g. for a course trip or for the graduation fund. In addition, all participants will receive a certificate of participation and corresponding visibility in regional and national press coverage.
